About ShrinkFox
ShrinkFox is a free bulk image editor that runs entirely in your browser. Resize, crop, compress and convert as many images as you like — nothing is uploaded to a server.
Why it works this way
Most online image tools upload your files, process them on a server, and hand back a download link. That's slower, it costs the operator money in bandwidth, and it means your images sit on someone else's machine for some period of time you have to take on trust.
ShrinkFox does the work locally using your browser's own image processing, plus a WebAssembly encoder for AVIF. Your files never travel anywhere. There's no upload step, no queue, no file size cap imposed by a server, and no account.
What it does
- Resize to a pixel size or a preset for Shopify, WordPress, Instagram, Facebook and X
- Crop by dragging, with locked aspect ratios, on one image or every image at once
- Compress with a quality control, showing the before-and-after size on every file
- Convert between JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF
- Download individually or as a ZIP
Who built it
ShrinkFox was built in New Zealand by a small team that runs several e-commerce and content sites. It started as an internal tool for preparing product images for Shopify and WordPress, which is why the presets are the ones we actually needed rather than a generic list.
